After School Spooks

We had a fun and spooky Halloween at After Care this year. The 5th graders designed a Haunted House in the lounge area that was one of our best ever! Foggy graveyards, dark tunnels, witches, vampires, and one very creepy jester had us all quivering in our boots. Thanks to all of the parents that patiently waited for their kids to go through the house, and to all of our super creative 5th graders that made the house such a success.

The following week featured three long days with Harry Potter as the theme.

On Wednesday, we spent the morning making wizard wands, witch’s hats and all manner of Potter-themed crafts. After lunch we took a trip to Out of This World for a fun filled afternoon playing on a giant play structure, hopping around on a bouncy house, and chowing down on some tasty pizza, then returned to school to watch the first Harry Potter film.

Thursday was another magical day, this time with butterbeer (a creamy, soda based Harry Potter drink) and all sorts of potions and spells. For the field trip we all went bowling! The kids chucked it down the lanes until it was time to return to school and Harry Potter #2.

Friday was Halloween! The staff and many of our students dressed up and participated in the Ainsworth Costume Parade. It was nice to see many of you out marching with us. We then put on a movie on the big screen in the gym and had a relaxing day until everyone was picked up to go trick-or-treating.

Check out the long day and Halloween pictures below and look forward to our next post highlighting even more Ainsworth Aftercare fun.
