Last week was Cinco de Mayo. As I’m sure you know, all week the kids worked on making the pinatas they were going to break open on Friday. It was a lot of fun and a simple process if you have the patience and time.
One of our staff, Adriana, was in charge of this project. She, with some help from Juan, started by using balloons as a way to make a round shape, so that they could layer paper mache on top.

After three layers we had the kids help add another 2 layers of paper

On Friday we popped the balloons inside, and cut a hole in the pinatas. We had five total. We filled them with candy and everyone took turns getting to hit the pinatas. Needless to say it was a big hit and everyone had a very good time.
