Sorry for such a long delay in blog posts! We have been busy reconnecting with familiar faces and welcoming new ones to the program, both staff and students included.
Fall is back and with it comes the cold and blustery weather. Please make sure you child is equipped with warm and dry clothing as we will make it outside for recess on most days.
Here are some important dates coming up in November:
11/9 No School, Long Day: “Rain Forests of South America”
Join us on this long day in the humid jungles of South America, where kids will be greeted by ancient temples and familiar rain forest characters. We will take a field trip to Bullwinkle’s Family Fun Center where all children will receive a $5 fun card, though they may bring extra money for snacks and extra gaming if they wish. 5th Graders may also play a game of Lasertag with any extra money they bring. After our return to Ainsworth, we will show Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove, rated PG.
11/12 No School, No Aftercare
11/20-22 No School, Long Days: “Asia: East to West”
In the three days off before Thanksgiving, we will provide Aftercare for the long days in which school is closed. During these days, we will transport the dramatic play area to the continent of Asia, spending each day in different regions, including the Middle East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia.
On Monday we will visit Hillsboro Skateworld to rollerskate. Please make sure the children bring socks, as well as optional money for the snack bar and arcade if you wish. If your child does not want to skate, we will provide additional activities. The movie for monday will be Kung Fu Panda, rated PG.
On Tuesday we will take a trip to Out of this World Pizza and Play. Again, the children will need socks. We will have pizza taken care of, so the children do not need to bring extra money. After the field trip we will show Mulan, rated PG.
On Wednesday we will stay at Ainsworth and have a Pillow/Pajama day in lieu of a field trip. We encourage kids to come with their pajamas on and their pillows in hand so they can get comfy and cozy while we watch Kung Fu Panda on the big screen in the gym!
We will be open from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on each of the long days.
