Monday, February 17th – No School, AASEP Closed
In observance of Presidents Day, the school facilities will be closed, including AASEP.

THEME WEEKS
February 3rd – 7th – Lunar New Year
We will celebrate this global holiday with a focus on Chinese traditions. Whether it be art, writing, or music, you can be sure we will enthusiastically celebrate the year of the Rat. Projects include paper fans, ribbon dancing, origami and lantern making.
February 10th – 14th – Post Office Week
Each day children can write letters to each other and “send” them through our AASEP post office. Students can apply to work at the post office at the beginning of the week in the dramatic play area of the Café. Those chosen for the job will help deliver letters to the different areas of our program and spread kindness.
February 18th – 21st – Harlem Renaissance
In honor of Black History Month, we will be exploring the music and art of the Harlem Renaissance. We will focus on several artist’s stories, including Aaron Douglass, Romare Bearden, and Augusta Savage. With many different mediums of creation, we will learn all about their lives.
February 24th – 28th – Inventors Week
AASEP is full of creative students, so what better way to celebrate than with a week full of inventions! Students will get to learn about many past inventors whilst also also creating their own inventions. We will also have a George Washington Carver Science Club (no sign-up required) during regular care hours.
