Ever wonder what it takes to get the Ainsworth After School program ready for day? Here’s a little peak of what goes on before your child arrives…

There are a few things that take place almost right away when the teachers and aids arrive for the day. The cafeteria, also referred to as the cafe, is set up and arranged for the kids, and first snack. The tables get cleaned and disinfected and the snack is prepped so that it is all ready for the arrival of hungry kids.

When the snack is set up, the next order of business is setting up the free art table and the lounge. This involves putting out paper, markers, tape, scissors, and all sorts of creative goodies for the kids to stimulate their imaginations.

The auditorium is also prepped for play, popular activities include legos, bingo, ribbon dancing, and karaoke.

From there we set up the reception boards that allow us to keep track of the almost 200 children involved in the program.

Finally, we update the bulletin board with fun facts, inspirational quotes, and questions that get the kids to ask questions about themselves and make them think in a different manner. It’s lots of fun reading the answers when you stop in to pick up your child. Here is also where you’ll find the sign in/out sheets along with any updates and upcoming news on activities.
Hopefully this brief introduction gives you a better idea of what happens all before the day even starts!
