This late winter snow has surprised us all but it makes a beautiful backdrop for our After School activities!
Last week our crafts, activities, and dramatic play have been inspired by artists and musicians of the Harlem Renaissance and this week is Authors week! Students practiced drawing with charcoal while learning about Charles White and others practiced painting with bright colors to create Ivey Hayes inspired artwork. Many more students created beautiful collages based on the artwork of Romare Bearden and drew oil-pastel flower bouquets like those of Lois Jones.
