Well, the school year is winding down, but with the sun shining and the children active, there are plenty of fun things to do here at After Care before we break for summer. Recently, our program had two special days: Kids Bazaar and Cinco de Mayo.
First, our students produced hundreds of crafts and projects to “sell” at our annual After Care Kids Bazaar. A Saturday Market of sorts, this year’s Bazaar was a rounding success. Items ranged from bookmarks to paper purses to, of course, rainbow loom bracelets. In addition, our fifth graders organized and ran a raffle, and we all finished up the hot day with some popsicles.
In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, the students gathered around by grade and had fun swatting at our After Care made piñatas. Each child took a turn swinging at their grade’s piñata, with crowds of other student cheering them on, until it broke open and dropped little baggies of candy.
All in all it has been a fun spring here at After Care so far. With only a few weeks left until summer we still have plenty of fun planned, including this week’s Camp Out activities and the Carnival on Wednesday, June 11. Tune in for more pictures and posts!
