Hi there! I just wanted to take the time here to recap and show some pictures of some of the fun things your kids have been a part of here at Aftercare in recent weeks.
First, we had Peace Week on our return from Winter Break, as the students celebrated and marched for the spread of peace throughout the world. As you can see, many of our students felt passionate enough about a peaceful world that they took to the playground to demonstrate on its behalf.
After Peace Week, we got up and active during Sports Week, which included a week-long minicamp known as Basketball Club. Led by myself and Rebecca, a wonderfully large turnout of kids showed up to the gym ready to dunk and dribble. It was a fun, energetic week filled with relay races, ball handling drills, and full 5-on-5 games.
While we only planned on doing it once, there has been an overwhelming demand for MORE Basketball Club! Rebecca and I are only too happy to oblige. Starting on Tuesday, February 19, Basketball Club – Part 2 will take place in second choice in the gym, again led by Evan and Rebecca. If your child would like to participate in the hardwood fun, just have them come sign up with either of us.
It was a fun first month of 2013 here at Aftercare, and we look forward to the second half of the year with all of our friends.
