The first full week of school for 2013-14 is here, and that means that all of the exciting activities of the first month of school are right around the corner.
If you are new to Ainsworth, or you are a veteran in need of a refresher, below is some helpful information for the coming month. All of the info below is also available on the hard copy newsletter available in your folders at the checkout desk.
First of all…
Welcome Back
We would like to welcome new and returning families. We hope everyone had a great summer!
We would like to introduce our Director Cindy and our Receptionist Brennan. They will both be at our main desk to answer any of your questions.
Cancellations
Please call 503-223-9744 (before 2:00pm) if your child will not be attending after care. There is a $15 dollar finders fee for not cancelling your child. We make it a priority to account for all children scheduled to attend After Care.
Outside Activities
Outside Activity sheets are available with the receptionist. Please let us know if your child is attending activity outside of Aftercare. Such as Mad Science, Art, etc.
Tuition
We will have bills in your folder by the end of this week. This month’s tuition is due Friday, September 14. If you have question about your bill please see Cindy or Brennan
We do not routinely print out receipts. If you would like a receipt for your records please let Brennan know.
Clubs and Events
Homework Club
Homework Club starts the second week of school and continues all year. Sign-up forms are available with the receptionist. We do our best to encourage children to follow through with Homework Club.
Knit/Crochet Club
All students are welcome as we learn and perfect various knitting and crocheting techniques. Talk to Rebecca if interested. This club will run all school year long.
Football Club
From September 16th to 20th, the Julia Reimann Field will host various football drills, activities and games. Have your child sign up at Aftercare in the coming weeks.
Buckaroo
The Buckaroo Annual School Carnival will take place on Friday, September 27th at Ainsworth Elementary. All that week, Aftercare will participate in the Buckaroo, Wild West theme. On the day of the event, we relinquish much of our space to make room for the Carnival, so if it is possible to arrange other plans for your children after school it would help alleviate the crowding in our limited area.
Donations
We are always grateful for your donations. Everything we receive from our generous parents goes straight to the students. This year we are asking for several specific items:
- Toilet paper tubes
- Magazines
- Cereal boxes
- 2-liter bottles
- Flat Screen TV (Our boxy set drastically needs an upgrade into the 21st century)
Again, we thank you for anything you can pass on to make the hours after school that much more engaging for your children.
After a long summer, we are glad to see many old faces return and to meet some students new to the program. We look forward to yet another exciting year at Aftercare!
