Welcome back to real life everyone! We hope you all had a fun, relaxing couple of weeks off for Winter Break. One week is in the books here at After Care and we have all been enjoying the stories of vacations and presents and festivities coming from the students.
It can often be a jarring transition back to the norm of every day routine after such a long time off, but the students did a great job jumping right back into the flow of things at After Care.
We have been lucky to have a dry week, and with the sunshine and relatively mild temperatures have come lots of outdoor sports. Football has been a big hit this week out on the field, as many of our pigskin inclined have been acting out what could be in store for Monday’s big game between the Ducks and the Buckeyes. We have a few Duck alumni on staff (myself included) and we all have enjoyed the abundance of U of O gear out at recess.
Just as a reminder… the school rule is that only 4th and 5th graders can participate in organized football games, and we enforce the rule as well. Younger students are welcome to play other football-related games as well as soccer, basketball, etc.
We have a number of new students who have joined the program this week, and it has been a joy to get to put a name to the fresh faces and start to get to know each of our new friends. If you are a new parent on this blog, please peruse the site for information about registration, payment, long days/off days, and answers for many other possible questions.
Welcome back everybody! Here’s to a great second half of the school year.
